Our Services

The Association offers a three-pronged approach to achieving its mission.

1. Membership Services – provides a forum for members to exchange information and network with others in the industry, and serves as a clearinghouse for Georgia’s not-for-profit housing developers. Services include access to a web portal with industry-related information, receipt of newsletters and bulletins, and sponsorship of networking meetings. Seeking economic benefits for members utilizing common vendors is a long-range goal. The Association’s new web portal contains a library of sample materials, an event calendar, and special information that can be accessed only by G-STAND members, as well as valuable information that is available to the public to demonstrate the value that nonprofits bring to our society. Individual member organizational profiles can be included. (See Membership Application.)

2. Educational Services – offers educational programs related to the industry to enhance performance and strengthen capacity. Any dues-paying member of the Association is eligible to send representatives to the training programs at cost or free, and others interested in affordable housing can enroll for a modest fee. Previous or planned workshops include subject matter such as “Nonprofits’ Limits in Lobbying and Advocacy,” “Train the Trainer in Financial Literacy,” and “Accessing Affordable Insurance Coverage for Your Operations.” G-STAND sponsors an affordable housing conference each fall prior to the Magnolia Awards conference hosted by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, that features educational sessions, networking opportunities, and exhibits.

3. Policy, Advocacy & Public Education – G-STAND creates a more supportive environment for the affordable housing industry by partnering with government and private industry to seek favorable legislation and palatable regulations. Advocating to place affordable housing in the public spotlight and on the agenda of decision-makers is an ongoing goal of the Association. Seeking additional resources for the affordable housing industry is another important goal. (see Policy & Advocacy)
